Hey there! I know terms and conditions aren’t exactly thrilling reading, but they’re important for protecting both of us. I’ve tried to write this in plain English so you actually understand what you’re agreeing to when you use this site.

The Basic Agreement

By using MealsForToddlers.com, reading the content, signing up for newsletters, or commenting on posts, you’re agreeing to these terms. If you don’t agree with something here, please don’t use the site. I’d rather be upfront about expectations than deal with confusion later.

How You Can Use My Content

What You CAN Do:

  • Personal use: Save recipes for your family, print them for your kitchen, share them at playgroups
  • Social sharing: Share links to specific recipes or posts (I love when you do this!)
  • Classroom use: Teachers and childcare providers can use recipes and tips with proper attribution
  • Small portions: Quote small sections (a paragraph or two) with proper credit and link back

What You CAN’T Do:

  • Copy entire posts: Don’t republish whole recipes or articles on your own blog or site
  • Commercial use: Don’t use my content to make money without permission
  • Remove attribution: Always credit MealsForToddlers.com when sharing content
  • Claim as your own: Please don’t pass off my recipes or advice as your creation

The Simple Rule: If you’re sharing because you found it helpful, you’re probably fine. If you’re using it to make money or build your own platform, please ask permission first at contact@mealsfortoddlers.com.

User Contributions (Comments, Emails, and Community Input)

When You Comment or Share:

  • Keep it family-friendly: This is a space for parents helping parents
  • Be respectful: We can disagree without being disagreeable
  • Stay on topic: Recipe comments should be about the recipe
  • No spam: Don’t use comments to promote your own business

What You Grant Me Permission to Do:

When you comment, email me tips, or share your experiences, you’re giving me permission to:

  • Display your comment publicly (with the name you provide)
  • Use your feedback to improve recipes (always anonymously)
  • Potentially feature your success story in future content (I always ask first)

What I Promise in Return:

  • I’ll never share your personal information publicly without permission
  • I’ll give you credit when appropriate
  • I’ll remove your comments if you ask (though it might affect the conversation flow)

My Intellectual Property (The Legal Stuff About My Work)

What’s Mine: All original recipes, photos, written content, the site design, and the “Meals for Toddlers” name and logo belong to me (Sarah Johnson) or are used with proper licensing.

Recipe Development: The specific combination of ingredients, cooking methods, and presentation in my recipes represents original work, even when using common ingredients.

Photography: All food photos are taken in my kitchen and belong to me. Please don’t use them without permission.

What This Means for You: You can use the recipes to feed your family (please do!), but please respect the creative work behind them when sharing or discussing.

Health and Nutrition Disclaimers (Really Important Stuff)

I’m Not Your Child’s Doctor

The nutrition information and feeding advice on this site is for educational purposes only. Every child is different, and what works for my kids (or others in our community) might not work for yours.

Always Consult Your Pediatrician About:

  • Specific dietary needs or restrictions
  • Allergies or food sensitivities
  • Feeding difficulties or concerns
  • Growth or nutrition worries
  • Any health-related questions

Food Safety Responsibility

While I follow USDA guidelines and food safety best practices, you’re responsible for:

  • Proper food storage and preparation in your kitchen
  • Checking expiration dates on ingredients
  • Knowing your family’s allergies and dietary restrictions
  • Using appropriate portions for your child’s age and development

Allergy Warnings

This is Critical: I cook with common allergens including nuts, dairy, eggs, wheat, and soy. Even recipes that don’t contain these ingredients may be prepared in kitchens that do. Always read ingredient labels and use your own judgment about allergen safety.

I do my best to note common allergens, but I cannot guarantee any recipe is safe for specific allergies. When in doubt, don’t risk it.

No Professional Relationship Created

Using this site doesn’t create any professional relationship between us. I’m a fellow parent sharing what’s worked for my family, not providing personalized nutrition counseling or medical advice.

What This Means:

  • My advice is general, not specific to your child
  • You’re responsible for making decisions about your child’s diet
  • This isn’t a substitute for professional nutritional counseling
  • I can’t be liable for outcomes from following (or not following) my suggestions

Results and Expectations (Let’s Be Realistic)

What I Hope For:

  • Recipes that work in your kitchen
  • Less mealtime stress for your family
  • Kids who are more willing to try new foods
  • Parents who feel more confident about feeding toddlers

What I Can’t Guarantee:

  • Your toddler will love every recipe (mine don’t either!)
  • Immediate changes in eating habits
  • Specific health or developmental outcomes
  • That every recipe will work perfectly in every kitchen

The Reality: Feeding toddlers is complex, and what works varies tremendously between families. My goal is to increase your success rate and reduce stress, not promise miraculous transformations.

External Links and Third-Party Content

Sometimes I link to other helpful resources, products I use, or sites that complement my content.

What You Should Know:

  • I only link to resources I genuinely find helpful
  • External sites have their own terms and privacy policies
  • I’m not responsible for content on other websites
  • Some links may be affiliate links (I always disclose this)

My Promise: I’ll never recommend something I wouldn’t use with my own family, regardless of any financial relationship.

Limitation of Liability (Protecting Both of Us)

Here’s the legal reality: I provide this content in good faith, but I can’t be responsible for every possible outcome.

What This Means:

  • I’m not liable for kitchen accidents, allergic reactions, or food-related issues
  • You use recipes and advice at your own discretion and risk
  • I can’t be responsible for technical issues with the website
  • Any damages are limited to what you’ve actually paid (which is usually nothing)

Why This Matters: I want to help families, but I also need to protect my ability to keep providing free content. This isn’t me trying to avoid responsibility – it’s me being realistic about what I can and can’t control.

Website Availability and Technical Issues

I do my best to keep the site running smoothly, but technology isn’t perfect.

What I Promise:

  • To fix technical issues as quickly as possible
  • To maintain reasonable website security
  • To back up content regularly

What I Can’t Control:

  • Internet service provider issues
  • Your device compatibility
  • Temporary server outages
  • Email delivery problems

If you’re having persistent technical issues, email contact@mealsfortoddlers.com

Changes to These Terms

If I need to update these terms, here’s what I’ll do:

  1. Post the new version with a clear date change
  2. Email newsletter subscribers about significant changes
  3. Give you reasonable time to review before changes take effect

Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated terms.

Termination (If We Need to Part Ways)

Your Right to Leave: You can stop using the site anytime. Unsubscribe from emails, delete bookmarks – no hard feelings.

My Right to Enforce: I reserve the right to remove comments or block users who violate these terms, but I’ll always try communication first.

What Happens If You Violate Terms:

  • First offense: Friendly reminder about community guidelines
  • Repeated issues: Comment removal or temporary restrictions
  • Serious violations: Permanent blocking from community features

Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These terms are governed by Texas state law and US federal law. Any legal disputes would be handled in Austin, Texas courts.

Why Texas?: That’s where I live and where my business is based. It keeps things simple and consistent.

Behind all this legal language is my commitment to you as a fellow parent: I’ll always be honest about what I can and can’t do, I’ll respect your family’s privacy, and I’ll keep working to make feeding toddlers a little bit easier for all of us.

These terms aren’t about creating distance – they’re about making sure we both understand the boundaries so we can build a helpful, sustainable community together.

Questions about any of this? I’m happy to explain what anything means in regular parent language. Just email me.
